Make Your
Profits Soar -
Below you'll find a few ideas to help you achieve
your fundraising goals fast. Are these the
only things you can do to be successful with your
sale? Of course not. But we've provided good,
solid, simple techniques that will work if you
follow them.
Remember
- Safety First!
We want you to be as successful as possible.
But please be safe. Don't sell door
to door (It's not safe, and it can be a huge
waste of time!). When you visit customers,
don't go out alone - take someone with you.
Preferably an adult, and please sell only to
people you know.
Tip #1
Give yourself a goal and a plan to reach that
goal- For example, "I'm going to sell
to 10 customers before the weekend hits. To acheive
this, I'm going to call 10 neighbors and relatives,
and then I'm going to ask my parents to take the
order forms to work." Or, "I'm going
to raise $500.00, and I'm going to make 5 calls
each day until I do."
Tip #2
Let your fingers do the walking- Instead
of wasting time banging on doors (not knowing
if anyone is home) pick up the phone first. Let
them know what you're selling, and what you're
raising money for. Then, arrange for a time to
meet. (Safety reminder - Make sure to bring
someone with you - preferable an adult - when
you go.) If you're not sure what to say, take
a look at the phone script below, and change it
as necessary.
Tip #3
Send out an email to friends/family members
who live out of town, telling them about your
fundraiser, and inviting them to support your
group by purchasing from our online store. If
you're not sure what to say, simply copy and paste
the sample email text below, into your own email,
and edit the text to fit your sale. Remember,
your group makes a 25% profit from online sales!
If you're not allowed to send emails, then ask
your parents for help.
Tip #4
Ask your parents for help- If your parents
work in an office with a lot of other people,
ask them (nicely, please) to take your order form
to work, and pass it around the office. Their
co-workers will gladly purchase, either to support
your group, or because most of them use coffee
and tea daily, and this will save them a trip
to the store.

The script below is intended
to serve as an example. Change it to fit your
own style and your fundraiser. Try to smile,
(yes, smile when you're on the phone. It really
does make your voice sound more pleasant) relax,
and remember to speak slowly and clearly.
Sample
Phone Script
Mrs. Smith: Hello?
You: Hi Mrs. Smith? This is _________________.
How are you?
Mrs. Smith: Fine. Thank you.
You: The reason I'm calling is; My (band)
is selling fresh-roasted coffee and gourmet items
to raise money for (our trip to Hawaii).
I was wondering if you are interested in buying
a few items to support our group.
Mrs. Smith: Oh, I'd love to help you out.
You: Great. Thank you! Could my dad and I come
over tonight, after dinner to show you the catalog?
Mrs. Smith: Sure. How about 7:00?

Has composing an email got you

paste it into your own email, then tweak it to
make it more appropriate for your fundraiser.
Sample email:
Hi Everyone,
I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to get
in touch with you, because our group, ___________
is raising money for___________, and we could
really use your help. We're working with We CARE!
Coffee Company for this fundraiser. They feature
gourmet coffees roasted fresh for each order,
Ghirardelli hot cocoas, italian biscotti, kid's
baking mixes, and a lot more!
Their web address is; www.wecarecoffee.com.
Simply click on the link to their store to check
out the products they're offering. Once you've
selected the items you'd like to purchase, there
will be a place to type the name of our group,
and my name, so I can receive credit toward prizes.
Also, all of their products are guaranteed, so
if you're not happy with your purchase, they promise
to make it right!
We're hoping that this will be the only fundraiser
we have to run this year, and with any luck...
